About the Role
Oak Medical Arts is looking for an energetic and passionate Physiotherapist to work in our clinic and provide access to primary care for our patients in the areas of acute care, chronic disease management and other expanded care.
We are looking for a collaborative and team-based practitioner to support our network of six locations in Thunder Bay. Oak has built an incredible team of pharmacists, chiropractors, social workers, nurses and is wanting to continue to fill gaps in care, as well as expand and innovate the way we can help patients. The team and administrative support is established and ready to facilitate and work with the right candidate to help patients in every way we can!

Roles and Responsibilities
Physiotherapist Role
Perform high-quality treatments with a complete focus on the client, including physical therapy, rehabilitation, soft tissue, and other physiotherapist modalities
May also provide additional modalities such as: acupuncture, custom orthotics, and compression.
Assess, diagnose, treat and recommend options to relieve pain, restore mobility and prevent reoccurrence so clients can lead healthy active lives
Recommend treatment plans and home care based on individual needs
Maintain accurate client records
Abide by all regulations, by your Provincial College/Association and the Insurance companies
Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
Adhere to Oak Medical Arts Policies and Procedures.
Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information
Complete other tasks as requested
Diagnose, treat, and aid in the prevention of all injuries
Assess patient health through interviews and physical examinations
Create treatment and rehabilitation plans - may suggest diet plans and exercise programs to assist with rehabilitation
Treat chronic health conditions that can affect athletic performance
Order and interpret results of diagnostic imaging procedures
Evaluate athletes prior to sports participation to determine predisposition to injury
Implement mental strategies that enable athletes to cope with and overcome setbacks or injuries
Help patients maximize their performance levels, minimize pain, recover and prevent injuries
Communicate information to patients regarding diagnosis and treatment goals
Maintain patient medical records (using Oak Medical Arts electronic medical record)
Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
Adhere to Oak Medical Arts Policies and Procedures
Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information
Provide other medical services as needed

At our new sports medicine clinic, you'll work alongside physiotherapists, chiropractors, kinesiologists, other RMTs, and a Nurse Practitioner.
